New Ford Fiesta
Just saw this commercial while watching a rerun of Spiderman 3. Looks like an impressive little category smasher! Check out the brand new Ford Fiesta.

Pixar's Cars 2 Update
Did you know that Cars 2 is actually under production? I'm very excited but a little melancholy that Paul Newman can't provide his voice for the Hudson.
According to Jalopnik (original at Gordon and the Whale), the new movie features some inter-series racing across the globe (a la Grand Prix) and a new pic goes along with the tidbit.

Jeep PR Fail
Have you seen the latest in the Jeep TV commercials? It's a ridiculous attempt at 1) either getting more women to buy Jeeps, or 2) showing folks that women also like Jeeps.
Either way, it's a massive fail. They show the lengths to which women will go to in having perfectly coiffed hair, just to completely mess it up when they pull the top off their Jeeps and go for a ride in the countryside.
It makes both women and the Jeep brand lose several notches on the relevance meter. Major fail. Don't blame Fiat, I'm pretty sure this was already in the works prior to the takeover.
I had almost forgotten about having seen this commercial and the puzzlement I experienced--then reading the above linked article to Jalopnik brought it all back!

Top Gear Stunt Secrets Revealed
So about a month ago I was a little surprised to hear that Top Gear's very own James May suffered a minor accident while on a blimp while shooting a stunt for the show.
Then today everyone's been updating that the accident was actually a planned stunt (duh?) and everything was planned months before it even took place. See: Jalopnik, The Telegraph.
Obviously it's either spin control, or the truth. I've read lots from James May lately about how the paperwork is always getting in the way of the fun via his newspaper column and comments he's made in his TV shows (outside the Top Gear realm). Either way, I can't wait to see it on film when that episode airs.

Revisiting the Knight Rider (KITT)
For those of us who grew up during the 80s, we're sure to quickly admit some sort of admiration for the Knight Rider TV show. KITT (or the Knight industries two thousand) was my first car crush. My infatuation was much stronger than with the General Lee, as I was more drawn to the Dukes of Hazzard's naivetee and countryside lifestyle.
This week I just decided suddenly to look up a KITT themed wallpaper, and found it. Then I somehow stumbled over a neat KITT red lights (and sound fx) screensaver. FTW!
I'm quite proud of my laptop and work computer's car geekines ranking right now.
Now, if I could only locate the doggone mp3 for TopGear on iTunes so I can convert it to a ringtone for my iPhone! I know what song it is, but the versoins available are the old skool ones and not the one done especially for TG. Doggoneit. *back to the drawing board*

Top Gear Theme Song
I am intent on locating, downloading, and converting the Top Gear theme song into a ringtone.
The hilarious/serendipitous/fate-ish part came today as I searched the words "top gear theme song" on Google and realized from the wiki Top Gear entry, that invariably emerged, that the theme song's name is "Jessica" by a band called The Allman Brothers' Band. Now, talk about coincidence!

Daily Car Porn
For an explanation, see here. This Top Gear website's tv show on BBC America is becoming a fast favorite--whenever I turn on the tv, I always look for it.
Top Gear America Does It! FTW!
Rock on dudes. This is totally awesome. It CAN be done. Yes WE CAN!
