Fiat in the USA

Car and Driver let us know the latest they've been able to find out about Fiat coming (or not?) to the US. This is taking as long as the rumors of the Golf R coming. And look where that's gotten us. This looks a little more hopeful, however.

C/D says: "Fiat’s execs suggest that they’ll be releasing a lot of news at the Los Angeles auto show, where the U.S.-production 500 will make its debut. Pricing for the minicar should be announced then, too."

"The 500’s lineup will include Pop, Lounge, and Sport models, the latter getting special suspension tuning, a body kit, and unique wheels. We know the 500 will get a 1.4-liter four-cylinder with Fiat’s MultiAir valve-lift system; Chrysler has said that both a 100-hp naturally aspirated version and a 170-hp turbocharged 1.4 will be coming stateside. It’s not yet known whether, as in Europe, the turbo will be reserved for an Abarth model to come later or if it will be included on the U.S. Sport model..."
