GM publicly stated they don't know what to do with Saab -- as if they knew what to do with other GM brands either -- after the one deal they were eyeing seriously fell through. By stating uncertainty in such a public manner, it alerted Saab to an urgent need to save their own necks.
Saab top management rushed on the first flight over to the US to have a meeting and suggest, politely, that GM reconsider the other bidders again versus scrapping the whole thing.
And now...Spyker is flirting with the idea of buying Saab. I hope so, I think Saab deserves better than the treatment they've been given by GM. I think all the other brands under GM should amscray as well to greener pastures. Will they still can.
